Indirect lighting with LED Strip and LED Profiles.
The kitchen can be easily lit by installing indirect lighting over the cabinets to provide a peaceful ambient light. A high-powered strip will give good lighting through the ceiling, others will settle for more atmospheric light at lower wattages. Plinth lighting is also popular, using a fairly low-power strip, e.g. 4.8 W/m or 5.8 W/m.

The desks are evenly illuminated all the way around using an LED strip and a specially designed aluminium luminaire profile. The recommended wattage of the strip is 12-14 W/m. In recent years, almost all sites have used a neutral white strip, which does not turn white surfaces yellow. The high colour rendering index shows the surfaces in their natural colour.The strip is installed under the upper cabinetry, close to the front edge. A well-designed kitchen is fitted with doors 10 mm higher than the cabinetry, it is this overhang that hides the luminaire profile from view. The 8 mm high profile is itself very unobtrusive, and does not give off glare from the room. The optical cover distributes the light over the entire depth of the table and also illuminates the back wall of the partition. (See photo series without cover and with cover). The luminaire profile is watertight from above, so that the luminaire can also be integrated with a possible drying cabinet. The mains socket for the safe 24-volt ribbon mains connection is usually installed on top of a cabinet or in a plinth, for example. Luminaires can be ordered ready made to order (<200 cm) or to be assembled on site with profile and LED strip. Aluminium shrouded power supplies are recommended for better coolability.
